Mimi will join the faculty at Kinhaven's Young Artist Seminar, an intensive, one-week program dedicated to the study of the chamber music repertoire. Open to college and pre-professional students, YAS is committed to offering an experience with the most meaningful artistic and educational benefit possible, and one squarely in line with Kinhaven’s core values. In this spirit, Kinhaven has renewed its commitment to making the Young Artist Seminar tuition-free in 2025.

Featuring members of A Far Cry

Mimi performs Shostakovich Quintet on the Luby Symposium Faculty concert alongside Luby Symposium faculty members Nicholas DiEugenio, violin; Aaron Berofsky, violin, Jordan Bak, viola and Caroline Stinson, cello.

Named in honor of its founder, violinist Richard Luby, the Symposium offers participants intensive instruction, performance opportunities, and exchange of interpretation ideas ranging across five centuries of violin repertoire. Artist-Faculty include guest artists violinist Fabian Lopez and pianist Ināra Zandmane (UNCG), symposium director and violinist Nicholas DiEugenio (UNC-CH), violinist Aaron Berofsky (University of Michigan), violist Jordan Bak (UNCSA), violist Rubina Bak (teaching artist), cellist Caroline Stinson (Duke, Ciompi Quartet), and pianist Mimi Solomon (UNC-CH).

Resounding Resistance: Folk-Infused Classical Music, 1937-1945

Mimi performs Bartok's Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion alongside

The event will feature two brief TED-style talks by Dr. Darci Gardner and Dr. Jacob Kopcienski.

The concert is presented by Appalachian State University's High Country Humanities—with support from North Carolina Humanities and the Watauga Arts Council.

Mimi joins 1978 Naumburg Award winner Carol Wincenc  to perform Sato Matsui's Goldenrod Sonata at a celebration of Naumburg Award winners Charles Niedich and Carol Wincenc.

Mimi joins violinist Nicholas DiEugenio and cellist James Wilson in a 19th-century arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Seasons for Piano Trio by Alexander Goedicke with the movements interspersed with narrative of poetry and other writings.
